Patient Safety Hero Award
The Patient Safety Hero Award is one of five award categories in our Clinical Audit Hero Awards. The award recognises clinical audits supporting improved patient safety.

The winner of this award will be announced during Clinical Audit Awareness Week on Monday 13 June 2022.
- Eligibility criteria
Submissions meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must involve an audit(s)
- Individuals or teams can be nominated by themselves or by others
- Projects, individuals or teams can be based in any type of health and care setting in the UK
- Those nominated must have led or made a substantial contribution to the successful delivery of the project
- Must show evidence of supporting improved patient safety
- Data collection period must have been since 1 October 2020
- Judging criteria
Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
- Clear audit design
- Championing data-driven and evidence-based improvement as good practice
- Evidence of improvements in patient safety made as a result of the audit
- Evidence of a re-audit showing improvement in patient safety and sustainability
- Innovative approach
