This is the sixteenth annual PICANet clinical audit report summarising paediatric critical care that took place in the United Kingdom (UK) and Republic of Ireland (ROI) between 2016 and 2018.

This report provides data on five key metrics for Paediatric Intensive Care services:

  1. case ascertainment
  2. retrieval mobilisation times
  3. number of qualified nurses per bed
  4. emergency readmissions within 48 hours
  5. mortality in PICU
