Are you a leader in healthcare; expert in quality improvement (QI)? Do you have experience and expertise in national clinical audits and a passion to enhance their impact on healthcare quality and outcomes? Are you seeking an opportunity to apply your skills at national level to the wider benefit of the NHS? Then we would love to hear from you.

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is an independent, non profit-making organisation led by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, The Royal College of Nursing and National Voices that commissions NHS clinical work programmes on behalf of NHS England and other devolved nations. This includes the National Clinical Audit & Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP) which consists of over forty National Clinical Audits and clinical outcome review programmes. HQIP is a small, dynamic organisation, and our impact is achieved through the excellence of our workforce and the strength of our facilitatory and collaborative approach, both within our organisation and through our extensive professional networks.

HQIP and the Health Foundation have come together to create this exciting new role of Senior Healthcare QI Lead, running for a one year period in the first instance. The role is supported by the Health Foundation, an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK.

The overarching aim of the role is to increase the effectiveness of the NCAPOP in stimulating improvements in quality of care and patient outcomes. This aim is to be achieved through the delivery of two main objectives:

  1. Reviewing, refining and improving HQIP’s approach to developing the scope and specification of each project with the aim of maximising the future healthcare QI utility.
  2. Increasing the support to NCAPOP project provider teams on designing for QI impact, tailoring the approach to reflect the scope and maturity of each audit and sharing skills and knowledge across the Programme.
